Your Guide to New Years on the Coast

Celebrate the New Year at one of the many NYE events right across the Sunshine Coast! Remember to stay safe and have fun.

Mooloolaba

The Esplanade Mooloolaba 

Gates open at 4.30pm down on the Mooloolaba Esplanade with free family activities, roving entertainment, face painting and food stalls. There will be live music on the main stage from Andrew Kirwin Trio, Mason Hope, Dan Horne Trio, energetic DJ sets on the beach stage and spectacular fireworks displays at 8.30pm and midnight. This event is a safe, secure, fully fenced, alcohol and glass free zone. Presented by Sunshine Coast Council.

Mooloolaba Surf Club
The  top floor of The Surf Club will play host to Mooloolaba Surf Club's New Year’s Eve cocktail party from 7:30pm to midnight. Canapés and an arrival sparkling are included along with live music, and firework displays at 8:30pm and midnight. 18+ only. This is a ticketed event.  

Whale One New Year's Eve Cruise
Celebrate New Year’s Eve with Whale One watching the spectacular fireworks scheduled for 9.00 pm and 12.00 midnight. ​Departing from Mooloolaba Wharf at 8pm. 

Caloundra
Bring the family to New Year’s Eve at Kings Beach Caloundra. A fantastic family affair from 4pm to 9:30pm. Children’s rides, food stalls, fireworks, music, dance, face painting and heaps of fun things to do. The movie – Ferdinand  (PG) screens from 7pm and fireworks at 9.30pm. Presented by Creative Events Incorporated and supported by Sunshine Coast Council.

Coolum Beach

Tickle Park, Coolum Beach 
New Year’s Eve in Coolum will be huge - rides, sausage sizzle, popcorn, fairy floss and more! Bring the whole family along and enjoy a fantastic fireworks display at 8:30pm. Presented by the Lions Club of Coolum and supported by Sunshine Coast Council. 5pm to 9pm.

Coolum Beach Hotel 
"NO STANDING" will be rocking at the Coolum Beach Hotel this New Year's Eve from 10pm. Put your dancing shoes on. This is a free event. 18+ only.
 

Maroochydore
Make sure to pull on your whites and head down to Ocean Street to ring in 2019 at the White Party. Solbar & Old Soul are joining forces to bring to you an epic NYE held over 2 of Ocean Streets legendary venues. DJ Crooked Colours will get the party started and Alex Dyson will also hit the decks. 5pm to 12:15am.

Twin Waters
Celebrate the end of 2018 and the start to 2019 at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort with a seafood buffet dinner in Nouveau Restaurant or one of the casual dining options. Live music and entertainment will be available in the main complex throughout the evening with Candice on the Aqua terrace 4pm – 8pm followed by Soulcutz Band 8pm to midnight or celebrate with Teddy Cream from 10pm to 5am.  A spectacular fireworks display is planned at 9pm to light up the night skies over the lagoon and celebrate the start to the new year.

Noosa
Noosa’s foreshore will light up like never before with The Beach Party! The entertainment starts at sunset with DJ sets and the party anthem builds up to New Year as Laguna Bay explodes in its annual midnight fire and light show. Noosa Main Beach will be decked out with island bars, daybeds, beanbags, thatch umbrellas alongside beach club BBQ’s, Tacorias and smoke kitchens all night long.

Eumundi
The Imperial Hotel Eumundi will be pumping this New Year's Eve with live music kicking off in the Imperial Beer Garden from 5pm with Benny O and his acoustic magic. The Brewery (ticketed gig) will be kicking out the jams from 7.30pm with Band of Frequencies getting the vibe just right. They'll then hand over the stage to the one and only OKA - who may just be the perfect band to see in the New Year.

Woodford
New Year's Eve at Woodford Folk Festival is one of the highlights of this iconic music, art and cultural festival. Spend the day taking in outstanding musical talent from across the globe, join a dance class, grab a massage and devour delicious eats from the street stalls that line Woodfordia. Celebrate into the night with the amazing lantern parade and fire display.
